CYCLING AT IT'S BEST!

We are in Sacramento.  I googled biking in this area and found a really neat bike path.  It follows the American River and thus surprise... surprise... is called the American River Bike Trail.  It is about 34 miles long and we did 6 miles yesterday out a back and today went the other way and did the other 28 plus we added a trip to Folsom Prison.  So we did about 60 + miles.  Am I tired?... What do you think... EXHAUSTED!!  But what a beautiful trail!  Somewhat like Wenatchee's loop trail but much more wooded and varied.  It is a gem.  Bicyclers out there... if you are reading this you would love it.  Bicycles trails don't get much better than this!

We are so glad we decided to stay an extra night here.  We need to be in Eugene by Sunday night as we have an appointment to have our windshield replaced as it had a teeny tinny little crack that has become a big crack.  This is what we have insurance for right?  So we had a little extra time to explore this area.  We also got to see the infamous Folsom Prison (just from the outside... so don't jump to any conclusions about our behavior).  In the picture they would't let us get any closer... looked too shady I guess.

We must admit we are torn about any further delays as we miss our kids and grandkids a lot.  (ok... also the dogs and cat... well ... we miss Maggie and Ginger and maybe Zoe a little bit)  (I said that about Zoe because she doesn't care if we are home or not but she is so smart I think she can read a little and I don't want to hurt her feelings.

We also have some very dear friends that are going through so much and we want to be with them ... not that we can change things but just to hug them and be with them through these really difficult times.

Here are some pictures from our ride today:

Side trip to Folsom Prison... glad I didn't have to stay.
