SUNDAY IN SEDONA

We found a very nice small Southern Baptist Church and carefully checked to see if there were any signs of a vortex or psychic paraphernalia associated with the church... none found.  We discovered normal people who were very friendly and a pastor who was down to earth, and said at least three times that the Bible was God's word, inerrant and true.  He was an excellent preacher and Dave and I both felt the service was worshipful.  It is not always easy to find a church in a strange place.  When we were in Zion we found three choices... two Mormon churches and one that we suspected was more about organic foods than worship.  So that Sunday we stayed home.

After church we went on a nice hike up the West Fork of the Oak Creek.  I researched the hike to find a good one.  I found such a great hike that half of Arizona was on the trail with us.  Actually we learned that it is thee most popular hike in AZ.  For a while it resembled a walk in Central Park but after a while we seemed to be the only ones on the trail.  I guess it was too tough for them.  :)  We had to cross the stream about 12 times and that was a minor challenge, but there were rocks to hop across on.

We were going to go out for dinner but after we got back and showered it was just too tempting to relax right here.

One interesting note:  We have 3-4 families of blue herons nesting above our ArrVee.  These huge birds are perched up there in their nests with their chicks.  Unfortunately they do what birds do which is... do-do.  I went out to look and take some pictures and yes... you guessed it... got nailed... yuk!

Tomorrow we are on our way to Phoenix.

Beautiful peaceful little river.

Moses parted the water with his rod... I just used mine for balance.

Dave is across the stream... if he can get there so can I!

Like towers reaching for the sky.
