Actually the trail was quite nice but the weather did not help us out today. We are in an absolutely beautiful area near Grants Pass Oregon. Everything is green and hilly with the beautiful Rogue River winding through it. But we discovered today why we'd rather live in Wenatchee rather than Oregon... it rains here!
Our trail... or I should say trial ... took us along the Rogue from just north of Medford to Ashland. It is a paved trial and was quite beautiful but riding in the rain, which started soon after we left the comfort of our little car and persisted off and on until we returned, took quite a bit of the beauty out of it. We had approximately two minutes of sunshine interspersed with the clouds and rain. The temperature was 56 degrees and the wind was mostly blowing against us coming back. I'll be honest with you... at first it was just sprinkles which we could tolerate but just as we started back it was pretty much drenching and we were caught in a section in which there was no shelter so we got WET. It actually hailed for a bit. (Dave can attest to this).
I took my camera but was too cold to take any pictures.
Our feet and hands felt like blocks of wood due to being nearly frostbitten. So attached is the only picture of the day. If you are wondering what in the world?? It is of my feet shivering.
