If you've ever seen pictures in a travel book concerning slot canyons it probably had some from Antelope. The approach is simply a narrow grove of smooth rocks and you just walk between them and begin to descend. This canyon had a ladder and down we went and were immediately in the slot canyon. The walls look somewhat colored but nothing like pictures I had seen so I thought ... Oh dear, I must need a special filter to get that effect. I set up my tripod and set for the exposure I had anticipated I would need and took a picture. When I looked at the result I was blown away. Here are a few of the shots.
We felt a little rushed to get on through the canyon as our guide kept moving us along. I could have stayed in there for hours.

Later we hiked a wash canyon that was fun too. Very intriguing geology.
| Nice hike in Cathedral Wash. The bottom is that little pool and we had to work our way around it. |
Page and Lake Powell have been a very fun place. Very different. Warm and pleasant. Tomorrow we are off to Sedona.
