This blog has stalled because of lack of internet...not lack of interest. I assumed when we started on this trip and when I started my career as a blogger that I would have reasonable internet access. That was a totally false assumption. I have had almost no internet. We relied on being "tethered" via AT&T. Forget it! AT&T doesn't exist in most of the Midwest and mountain areas. Since we prefer to stay in state and national parks rather than private we have often had no wi- fi... When we did have it, it somehow didn't reach our spot.
But ... I'll try to bring you up to date a bit...
We stayed at Bob and Jo's RV Farm (Dave's brother) They win the award for the most friendly place and best cinnamon rolls. Actually best all around food and fun.
While in Iowa Dave and I took a couple of bike rides around the area from Bob's to Bancroft to Lone Rock and Burt and home. This was a warm up for jumping in on one of the legs of Ragbrai (Register Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa).http://ragbrai.com/ We had a great time joining 10,000 other riders crazy enough to ride 64 miles in 94 degree humidity. We tolerated it pretty well and didn't have any ill effects the next day. (Check the video on the Brit/Warner )
Bob has returned to racing and after about 2-3 races won the "Feature" in Jackson MN. We got to see him race in Knoxville, IA.
We have stayed in some beautiful parks that we just wish you all could experience. We've seen beautiful mile after mile. We went through the Badlands Friday and yesterday rode 26 miles on the Michelson Trail, an old railway converted to trail. We went through some fantastic tunnels.
Then we took a tour of Jewel Cave. Tomorrow we head up through Montana toward Glacier and will tour that park in a couple of days and then head home. We will try to get in another bike ride or two if we can.
I don't know if I'll be able to add more posts or not. I'll do it if I have Internet.
